Collection and use of your personal information

Information we collect

The Auberge Internationale de Québec undertakes to collect only the personal information necessary to complete your reservation, to ensure the smooth running of your stay, to monitor your satisfaction and to keep it for as long as necessary to achieve the intended purposes or to comply with applicable legal obligations, up to 7 years following the end of the stay.

When you make a reservation, contact us, or participate in a survey, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Address and telephone
  • Credit card number
  • Gender (better personalize our offer)
  • Age group (to adapt our services to different demographic groups)
  • Images captured by our surveillance cameras in common areas (for security purposes only, with explicit consent)

One consent register is maintained in order to document the time, scope, and modality of each consent obtained.

We ask you to not send your credit card information by email. Book via our secure reservation platform or call us directly.

In accordance with Law 25, you can request access, correction, deletion or portability of your personal information.

We also collect usage data such as:

  • IP address
  • Pages viewed and referred
  • Browser used
  • Date and time of access

How we use your information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our accommodation services
  • Ensuring the safety of the premises and the respect of our policies
  • Contact you regarding a request or reservation
  • Generate statistics to better guide our marketing efforts

You can object to the use of your information for marketing purposes by clicking on the unsubscribe link or by contacting the Privacy Officer.

Sharing with third parties

We only share your information with contractually bound third parties who are required to maintain confidentiality and security. These third parties include:

  • Accounting firm for our annual financial audit

Some information may be transferred outside of Quebec. In these cases, standard contractual clauses ensure a level of protection equivalent to Quebec standards.

Security and incident management

Internal policies and IT settings protect your information. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a serious risk, a notification will be sent to the Commission for Access to Information as well as to the persons concerned, within the time limits provided for by the Law.

Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) are conducted for any project involving high-risk information (e.g., biometric collection, new software).

Accessibility of the policy

This policy is available upon request in an accessible format for persons with functional limitations, in accordance with universal accessibility laws.

Policy Update

This policy will be updated when it no longer reflects real and current practices. In the event of material changes, a notice will be posted on our website or sent by email, as appropriate.
